BanX Café is a drop-in club, on a Tuesday after school, that provides a relaxed and safe space for young people to come and enjoy time together through skating, listening to music and chilling out. On average there are 30-40 young people attending each week. Contact us or drop by to find our more!
Café Connect is an open access youth café for young people in school years 7-9. It is run jointly by GYFC and Christ Church East Greenwich. The café runs every Wednesday evening during term time where the young people can get involved in playing pool, table tennis and the Playstation, relax in the chill out area and get themselves something from the tuck shop. There are around 20 young people in regular attendance.
On Thursdays, after school, GYFC runs a football group for secondary school aged young people. There are currently around 10 boys that attend regularly, girls are welcome and GYFC would love to see some keen female footballers join! When attendance is good there is a warm up, a drill, a 5 minute discussion and then a match, on weeks where numbers are lower the young people have a more informal kick about.
Pulse is our termly youth gathering. Bringing young people together from different churches and youth groups for an evening full of high energy, fun,challenges, quizzes, a talk and table discussions. Please get in contact about bringing your youth group along.
On Friday evenings, at and in conjunction with St Michael’s Church, GYFC run a youth café called Saints. This open access group is for 11-13 year olds and is run by Joe, Lauren and Tim alongside a team of young leaders (14-18 year old previous members of the Saints youth group). An average of 20-30 young people attend each week. A standard evening with include things like playing pool, playing on the Wii and getting ice cream milkshakes and other treats from the café bar, which is called Classic Saints. There are also one-off evenings throughout the year such as a Valentine’s Day event, Quiz nights and Easter bunny races.
Girls worker Lauren Crisp-Hihn continues to teach Zumba lessons alongside running self esteem workshops in local schools.
