About Us

Greenwich YFC is  a partnership of staff, volunteers and supporters. We form partnerships with churches and other agencies to deliver high quality youth work. Our youth work aims to be high-quality, creative, distinctive and effective.  The values we hold are derived from our Christian heritage and our desire to demonstrate the relevance of the Christian faith for today. We invite young people to discuss and consider the Christian faith and express spirituality in ways meaningful to them. Our faith inspires us to provide the very best for young people serving the needs of young people within the local community, enabling them to grow holistically through choice and change. Our approach is characterized by the following:

Professional
We aim to work with the highest professional standards. We are signed up to the Faithworks Charter and are working towards the YSQM Quality Standards Award from the National Youth Association and the DCSF.

Inclusive
We are committed to working with young people who can be described as being socially excluded. Greenwich YFC actively promotes equality of opportunity and encourages young people to play a full part in the life of their communities.

Dedicated
Our staff and volunteers are deeply committed to delivering the mission and vision of the charity. We support and encourage all people involved in the organization to achieve their potential.

Pro-active
GYFC initiates fresh projects and opportunities for youth work.  We are committed to providing solutions for gaps in provision and to seeking out resources to enable these solutions to be implemented.

Empowering
We are committed to working with the agendas set by young people. We seek to empower members of the local community to become appropriately involved in the lives of young people and to enable them to take a full and active part in our work.

Learning
We are a learning organization, continually seeking new approaches and methods and reflecting upon work to enhance future practice. We involve our stakeholders, young people and partners, in our direction and function.

We work in three main project areas: Churches, Communities and Schools.

We work with over 400 young people a week. we have a team of 6 staff, two full time, and four part time. we have two students who are completing degree programmes with the Centre for Youth Ministry.
